Highfield School Bogor is seeking a passionate and qualified Economics Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences that help students develop strong economic understanding, critical thinking, and real-world awareness, while supporting their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver economics lessons aligned with the curriculum and school standards
Teach core topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic systems, market structures, and financial literacy
Develop lessons plans, learning materials, assessments, and instructional resources
Assess, record, and report students’ progress through assignments, tests, and examinations
Apply a range of teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of current economic issues
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Integrate technology and real-world examples into teaching where appropriate,
Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and support to students
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership
Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities
Comply with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable university in Economics, Business, Management, or a related field
Minimum 2 (two) years of teaching experience in an international curriculum setting (IGCSE, AS/A-Level, IB)
Teaching certification/license in accordance with local regulations is preferred
Experience teaching Economics at secondary level is an advantage
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum and assessment standards
Ability to guide students in analysis case studies and write structured responses
Skilled in differentiated instruction to support students with varying learning abilities
Excellent classroom management
Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
Competent in using digital teaching tools and platforms (Google Education Workspace, Kahoot, Quizizz, MS Office, etc.)
