Interior Designer - Head Office

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join Kinderfield-Highfield as an in-house designer. The role involves designing and executing interior projects for our existing schools as well as upcoming expansions and new centers. This position ensures that all interior spaces align with the school’s brand identity, functionality, and safety standards, creating an engaging and child-friendly learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

a. Design & Planning :

  • Develop interior design concepts, layouts, and detailed plans for new and existing Kinderfield-Highfield schools and learning centers

  • Ensure designs align with Kinderfield-Highfield School branding, safety regulations, and child-friendly standards

b. Project Execution & Coordination :

  • Prepare mood boards, 3D renderings, material boards, and color schemes for approval

  • Work closely with architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and quality execution of projects

  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any design-related issues

  • Supervise installation of furniture, fixtures, and decor

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget

c. Budget & Compliance :

  • Estimate costs, prepare budgets, and ensure projects stay within allocated funds

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers for furniture, fixtures, and materials

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety requirements for educational institutions

d. Maintenance & Improvements :

  • Recommend and implement improvements for existing spaces, ensuring they remain functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing

 

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field

  • Min. 1–4 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably with experience in educational, commercial, or institutional projects

  • Proficiency in design software such (AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of space planning, color theory, materials, and lighting

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors

  • Experience in designing child-friendly or educational spaces

  • Understanding of ergonomics and safety standards for children’s environments

  • Ability to produce quick sketches and adapt to changes efficiently

  • Knowledge of safety standards for school/child environments

  • Having a Responsible to Life attitude
