The Landscape Officer is responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of the school’s outdoor areas, including gardens, lawns, playgrounds, and green spaces. The role ensures that the school environment is safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing, supporting both the school’s image and students’ well-being.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee daily landscape operations, including plant care, stock management, and area cleanliness within a school environment
Ensure that landscape processes adhere to established quality standards and procedures, contributing to a safe and aesthetically pleasing learning environment
Plan planting, production, and distribution of plants to meet targets for school gardens, green spaces, and special projects
Develop strategies to improve the quality and quantity of plant production, ensuring the school greenery remains vibrant and healthy
Manage inventory of plants, growing media, fertilizers, pesticides, and landscape equipment efficiently to support school needs
Place orders for necessary materials and tools, ensuring stock availability for ongoing school beautification projects
Monitor plant health, identify problems (pests, diseases, nutritional deficiencies), and take corrective action to maintain the health of the school ecosystem
Collaborate with school staff, agronomists, or other relevant parties for technical solutions, ensuring the landscape aligns with the school's vision
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly nursery activity reports, providing transparency on school grounds maintenance
Manage administrative documents, such as production records, inventory, and simple financial reports
Conduct routine checks on tools and facilities to ensure safety
Qualifications & Skills :
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in the landscape, agricultural, or horticultural fields is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Solid understanding of landscaping, including plant care techniques, pest management, and the use of fertilizers/pesticides, with an emphasis on safe, school-appropriate methods.
Strong managerial and leadership skills.
Proficiency in using software like MS Office for reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with school staff and community members.
Knowledge of safety standards for school/child environments
