The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors using the school swimming pool. This role involves supervising pool activities, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a safe, clean swimming environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise swimmers and pool users at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment
Enforce pool rules, regulations, and safety policies consistently and professionally
Respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies, including rescues and administering CPR/first aid when needed
Conduct regular checks of pool facilities and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness
Provide assistance and guidance to students and visitors regarding safe swimming practices
Maintain accurate records of incidents, rescues, and safety checks
Support swimming lessons, school activities, or events as required
Report hazards, maintenance issues, or unsafe conditions promptly to management
Qualifications & Skills :
Lifeguard Certification
CPR and/or First Aid Certification
Water Rescue Training
Strong swimming skills and stamina (able to swim certain distances and tread water for a set time)
Good physical fitness and ability to respond quickly in emergencies
Knowledge of safety standards for school/child environments
Having a Responsible to Life attitude
